🎞️ What Films Are You Watching? July 2025 🎞️

We go on!

19 watched in June

Best: Friendship, Pee-wee as himself, There is a light that never goes out.
Worst: Tornado
MMOTM: The last 15 minutes of Friendship, felt sore from laughing.

MMOTM - when Mert decided to make a thread dedicated to Mountainhead for some reason still unknown to this day

As always, June fucking stinks and becomes my first month of the year with under 10 films watched in it:

MMOTM is probably the drug trip scene from Friendship

More baffling

  • Logging Ballad of Wallis Island twice
  • Watching 28 Days and Weeks later in quick succession then not bothering with Years

  • liking 28 weeks more than 28 days

Ballad of Wallis Island twice was a result of it being a Medicinema screening

Not seeing 28 Years Later yet is really very stupid stuff tbf

stand your ground! I watched it twice in a week ON PURPOSE (second time was to watch with my mum but still)

Oh mine was on purpose as well tbf to me!

So it wasn’t just a misclick, you have been twice and actively logged it twice?

The Maverick User

This is correct (and isn’t the first time this has happened tbh, speaks to a bit of a lack of attention on your behalf in previous monthly film threads)

Films I have seen and logged twice this year:

The Ballad of Wallis Island
Black Bag
The Brutalist
Nosferatu

All I watched this month. too dang hot. Going to the cinema to see Final Destination: Bloodlines today so I can sit in a dark air conditioned room with an iced drink.

best: night moves
worst: look who’s talking too
movie moment of the month: “if you wanna poke the bear, ohhhhhhhhhh you’ve come to the right man” in mission impossible or the realistically pathetic fight at the marina in night moves

Am watching Elio tonight on a MediCinema shift, have seen no hype about it at all so going to assume its a bit rubbish?

I’ve heard tentative “Best Pixar in a few years” which is really damning with faint praise

Couldn’t agree more mate

It is fundamentally a better experience watching a film when most of the actors are American (or doing American accents) rather than British (or doing British accents) this, alongside the fact that 28 Days Later looks like fucking dogshit, is the reason that 28 Weeks Later is the better of the two IMO
