The very last minute of 28 Years Later makes some very bold choices…
Quite liked the film as a whole, better than Weeks, not as good as Days, but it is very much the first film in a trilogy so let’s see where it goes. One plot line in particular is a bit daft, but again I’m expecting a payoff next time round. Just hope Ralph Fiennes is in the next ones again, he was the best thing here by a mile. Glad I watched the first one again recently, there are a few small callbacks (nothing plot relevant, just a couple of moments of oh yeah…) that I would have missed otherwise. Did think it was a bit cheap to reuse the Sad Mafioso though.
Still intrigued by that ending, I can see it fitting into a theme of national self sabotage (this one is Brexited up to the eyeballs), but it’s going to take some chops to pull that off in a serious horror movie
