I did indeed do it the end of May/beginning of June :grinning:

Obviously UK weather is a bit of a lottery, but had great cycling weather all through England, about 22 degrees with virtually no wind (got burnt to a crisp the very first day), and then it rained every single day in Scotland bar the final day and was fucking freezing (it was the first year they’d ever had the ski slope at Glenshee open on midsummer’s day). But yes, overall good time of year - pre school holidays so nowhere is particularly busy. Although don’t try and stay around Appelby when the horse festival is on like I did…

We did ours at the beginning of July. It rained from Bristol to the end so don’t take this as sage advice. The chances are you’ll get wet whatever time of year.

Are you then staying in the U.K. Or off again? I’ve enjoyed your photos on Instagram

moving to Spain in early Dec, but don’t work until Jan. So just gonna spend a month chilling out maximum.

btw I’ve had four days off work (not including bank holidays) since July 2016 so I’m absolutely massively stoked.

I have 13-22 October booked off. Where shall I go?

I can confirm that Greece is cheap that week :+1:

don’t go on holiday but I guess I’m going to London in November for a gig so that’s as close as it gets.

Barcelona in Feb half term. Cannot wait.

just toying with Bilbao in January as is stupid cheap, but then they start stupid cheap don’t they, and end up not stupid cheap when one has spaffed a million quid on tapas.

Thanks! I’m living and working in the Czech Rep so just going back to the UK for a week to visit. Staying out here for a while I think, enjoying it

Having said that, if anyone reading this knows of any remote jobs going… give us a shout.

Think I’m about to book up a snowboarding holiday in DAVOS… to end just as the world economic forum is starting.

Not sure if this is a great or terrible idea.

Sark

Got 2 weeks off in late November, want to go somewhere hot and far away which is conducive to a solo backpacking sort of trip. Indonesia would be great but it’s wet season then. Was thinking Burma initially but now a bit unsure of the ethics of that one… otherwise maybe Laos/Northern Thailand.

Ideas or ethical advice welcomed.

Go the other direction and travel around Central America? Hurricane season should have petered out by then (post/username interface etc…).

Haha, good idea but I did that earlier this year! I had 3 months off between jobs and did Guatemala down to Colombia. (You’d think that would satisfy my travel itch for a while, but… nah)

That’s a lot of holidays!

I’m going to Amsterdam next month to do the marathon. And that’s it.
