Monkey nuts are really boring taste-wise, but you get the thrill of opening them, sometimes finding three in there.

Also we got told at primary school that it was very easy to choke on monkey nuts, so ever since then I’ve chewed them for an absurdly long time before swallowing.

Honey roast peanuts are the best. Cashew and pistachio nuts fight it out for the worst nut experience ever.

As far as “more exciting to open than to eat” goes, I see your monkey nut and raise you a walnut.

Pecans are the best nut by a mile, and even they aren’t that great.

Peanuts are the worst and not at all interesting, their ubiquity is baffling.
