Some Loud Thunder by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah absolutely slaps from start to finish, and all the nerds who shat the bed because they didn’t like the production need their expensive vinyl players confiscating.

yeah i quite liked that album and the production is only messy and lo-fi on the first track (which is still great and suits the song well)

i liked that they toured it in full recently seemingly out of spite for the negative reaction at the time.

i haven’t been all that interested in the albums since that one though

labelling something as ‘‘the most important…’’ is wank. Sure, certain albums or artists may preach messages/themes that are socially progressive and should rightly be given special attention but if I like something a lot then it is important to me. I don’t need NME telling me what I should be obliged to watch/listen to just because it is morally just or based on certain themes and topics.

Maybe about 15-20 years ago but zero influence these days shirley. Last time I leafed through an NME, it was a free copy in asda. Mostly adverts and them asking some kids on the street what they were listening to, none of which was music they covered.

Yeah it hasn’t exactly been diminishing returns, Only Run had some bangers on it, but in general they haven’t got back to the level of the first two.
