Got this for a while. There was some interesting stuff in there. Distinctly remember a feature predicting watch sized communication devices that folk could use on the beach and a lot of facts about sharks etc… I assume my parents thought it would educate me but I reckon all it did was equip me for pub quizzes.

Real Life was great. But I didn’t really get the Correct Use of Soap.

Started off on The New York Review of Books, but then my grandma started to buy Granta for me from 7 onwards

I got that Dinosaurs one, first time I’ve thought about it in about 25 years

Just PlayStation magazines, starting at 10.

Before that I wasn’t really interested in much other than 80s pop music. My dad would buy me Beano and stuff but I never ‘got’ it.

Shoot also pulled one of the great April Fools of our time.

Completely forgot about Shoot and Match. Iirc I think I preferred Match but Shoot had the league table posters with the cut-out team tabs right?

Dinosaurs was great! Must have been c. 1993 with Jurassic Park and dinomania. My sister managed to finish that, and also, for more indie points, this:

Used to love listening to stories in bed every night and these magazines came with a free cassette tape.
If I ever have a male cat I will name him Gobbelino (The Witches Cat)

  • I had these too!
  • No Storyteller magazine/tapes for me :slightly_frowning_face:

Kylie and Jason are like 50 now and never age.

It was extremely irritating to set up in the first place. I don’t think I managed more than putting the teams in alphabetical order before the season started. Plus one part of it would always rip within minutes of unfolding it.
