One of those situations where I could see why you’d be angry…and why Sean would feel defensive (especially given recent context). It’s good to see it resolved (hopefully).

It’s interesting. I think people are increasingly coming to reviews and interviews for a deeper understanding. Often traffic to a review can come a fair bit after we’ve published it.

Just adding my simplistic comments to the discussions about review scores, etc. If you were to continue with reviews…or even if whatever transpires still includes writers examining recently released music…I’ve always quite liked formats where there a few informative tags (such as “Recommended”, “Highly recommended”, “Avoid” etc) as opposed to numbers. Well actually I quite like quantifiable scores and lists…but I totally see why they’re useless/arbitrary and so I guess they can be binned for the greater good

I think Bam, it’s often difficult to see when two people you think a lot of get at each other over something like this and it’s quite natural to want to try and mediate and show that they’re not always poles apart. What I tend to remind myself to stop wading in if I can is to try and remember that there’s often nuances to one or both positions that I’ve probably missed and I’m likely to make things worse, no matter how well meaning I am.

cheers, it’s fine. Not my place if people on here don’t like each other really.

Do a little one of these myself 95% of the time I see a beef brewing on here

Have you considered selling out to Condé Nast?

Hi Sean,

I would class myself as a semi-advanced internet user and during my online experiences I have discovered the failsafe ploys that will help in your profiteering quest:

More Interaction
What Thom Yorke haircut are you actually kind of stuff

Pop Ups
Every time someone posts a new thread on Popular Artists You Don’t Like link them to The Brit Method Man

Outrage
Britain is changing and people love to be outraged now. A war is coming and stories about the savagery of people who prefer Pinkerton would generate clicks

Celebrity Endorsement
Whoever you can get. I would suggest starting with Rick Stien and working backwards.

I can probably generate more ideas if needed.

I’d say he was a Dire Straits fan

Also when @laelfy mentioned it I thought of Oasis’s The Girl In The Dirty Shirt and how he’d think it was biographical

It was recorded way back in 1999, but if anyone can be arsed to listen to this to find out…
