For me, it simply has to be chives.
We can also discuss spices, if anyone is that way inclined.

What counts as a summer herb? Not being snarky I just figured they all were only available in summer really. I can kill any plant though so who knows.
Different herbs for different needs!!!
I dunno really. I suppose any herb that you like to have with summer dishes.
I’m not green fingered either, tbh. My kitchen windowsill is like a bloody plant graveyard
Fair point well made.
Thread’s off to a shocking start
Basil as part of a caprese probably
coriander is the best herb imo
but is it a summer herb?
Let’s talk about how we use different herbs.
What do you do with Chives, Kermy?
I like to chop them up small and mix them into potato salads and coleslaw, sour cream for potato skin dipping. They make a nice garnish for omelette, too.
Sometimes I use scissors to chop chives, sometimes I use a knife.
Far worse, just so so much worse
chives are great on eggs but I never use them for anything else (made about 3 potato salads in my life)
Yo Kerm! I’ve been really into scrambled eggs with chives from the garden sprinkled on lately
I use them for those things too! Also, amazing on scrambled eggs.
Controversial but I prefer dried chives to fresh!
Basil I guess?
I actually don’t have summer or winter dishes and it’s a form of contention with my wife as it adds to the whole thing around meals which is basically that I will eat anything that is veggie (I mean not just bland food but that’s just a given right) and just like ‘food’, while my wife actually gives a shit and, say, doesn’t really want soup or cassoulet in certain seasons. Hence this means I have to sort of wildly suggest things we can eat and she has to think about it and it annoys her.
Omg chegg!!! We’re so in sync babes!!
What makes a summer herb?

Ooh yes, this too.
That really IS controversial.
Let’s poll it, shall we?
