What Skills Do You Wish You Had?

We’ve had a thread on what skills you’d like to learn, but that’s a bit practical and sensible for me. I’m asking, access to opportunity notwithstanding, what skills you wish you had. It can be anything from something highly practical to something completely trivial, it doesn’t matter!

I personally would like to be able to do carpentry, and also to do accents but not in a comedy way, just to enjoy how language feels in different accents. wbu?

always quite envious of foreign language skillz. i would only use them for ordering a meal in the appropriate language / getting banter off the waiter when you go out to a restaurant just to show off to everyone

If it’s any consolation I am a terrible dancer but I love doing it anyway because of the endolphins

My secret is to accept that I am a fool and then just dance as hard as possible.

DIY would be a good one, other than that maybe singing and playing an instrument.

Also, remembering things. I’m so bad at recalling stuff from books I’ve read a week ago, I’m in awe when people can spout out stuff

Oh yeah, memory is a great one! My memory is terrible except for random facts, which means I can talk about rubbish but can’t keep appointments or pay bills! Good thinking.

Yeah I’m good with general stuff and quiz type things, like naming all 50 states/capitals but I had to really put some pointless hours in doing that on sporcle.

I wish I could sing, and I wish I found it easy to learn how to play a musical instrument or speak a foreign language.

I’d quite like to be good at a sport or some kind, too.

This is always a good thing to have in the back of your mind, because my current apocalypse skillset is whimsical thoughts and being able to type fast and I don’t think I’m going to prove my worth to the cannibal gangs with that!

Wish I could sing and had that natural skill not to be clumsy/graceless in everyday life. Those people who don’t drop things out their pockets or spend ages messing around trying to get something out their bag or don’t get hot and flustered when something doesn’t go to plan. This is the #2 reason why I don’t like wearing a mask, it exacerbates my flustering/gracelessness

Oh, and shuffling cards / folding clothes well.
