just finished season 1 of Mr Robot - meh! Started off well enough but just got pretty dull

anyone watch the first episode of Taboo by yer man Tom Hardy and his dad ‘Chips’ Hardy?

first episode was… fine

watched an old episode of Ripper Street straight afterwards which probably didn’t help my opinion of it as Ripper Street is far, far better (and just massively underrated in general)

Probably wouldn’t bother with the second series then…

finished it :frowning:
best comedy i’ve watched in a few years, not really sure what to do with my life now
find myself thinking about Alan or Claire or when Arnold spits on Tom’s xmas dinner several times a day

Rewatching Twin Peaks in anticipation for May.

Going to start watching The OA and Braindead.

Just finished Death on the Staircase

One of those things like Making a Murderer.

The ending was pretty WTAF. Really didn’t seem like they had any evidence at all

Started the new Lemony Snicket with the kids. Very dark. Very nicely done.

Watched some of that with my nephew over the weekend, was much better than I thought it would be.

I think we can assume they’ve seen a Wes Anderson film or two.

Blah, that bugged the shit out of me! Like “Yes we got it!! It wasn’t clever…”

I was mostly fine with Mr Robot wearing it’s influences on it’s sleeve but that was the smug tipping point though like a sucker I still watched the second series… Did you?

It’d be pretty tricky for anything to top the way it was used in Fight Club. I was rolling around in tears laughing at Knock Knock, too much to care

Lemony Snicketts
Outlander

…I think that’s currently IT. Need new shows

Visually, I thought it was pretty much identical to the film version, but it really suits the story so I thought it worked.

Same can be said for Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf - a carbon copy of Jim Carrey in the film, but it still works really well.

Give Jean-Xavier de Lestrade’s sequel from 2013 a go if you haven’t already. I’ll blank the IMDB link to avoid spoilers:

Yeah I would except I read what I guess is the main content on Wiki so I presume much of it wouldn’t be a surprise? Anyway, if it shows up I will of course try to catch it. Cheers.

It gets more batshit.

So, I’m currently on the second episode of Dirk Gently. Seems like it has the potential to be good, but also the potential to just become a complete caricature of itself. Anyone watched more of it and want to weigh in?

It’s shite. I managed about 4 episodes before chucking it. Not read the book but I assume it’s very loosely based on it,

it’s not a ‘laugh track’, it’s a live audience. they laugh at things because they are funny.

Anyone watch that Apple Tree Yard? It was alright, although slightly jarring with the scottish dad from Catastrophe in it. Got the potential to be bleak as fuck, well it is already tbh.
