In that instance I would say it’s a hard pass. It’s exactly the same as those.

Still not sure how I feel about the new Star Trek. I find it enjoyable, but it also vaguely feels like it could easily have been another generic (albeit technically well-done) Sci-Fi show with the Star Trek label slapped on top. Maybe if the Klingons were less tedious…

This is really good. 18 hours though! Only about 4 episodes in.

We’re currently working our way through American Horror Stories, from the beginning. Just started on season three. Really enjoying it. Apart from the weirdness of the Singing Nun record being a UK pressing rather than the US one. And the Searchers record on the jukebox looked like it was neither the US Kapp label nor the UK Pye pressing. Geeky?

Aye it’s great. The level of detail and personal accounts are great. It is pretty long though can only manage one episode a time and not the kind of thing you put on when you fancy a laugh. Great soundtrack as well.

@cutthelights are you going to be watching Mr Robot 3.0?

Nah, not enough hours in the day for that pretentious, boring shite :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha fair enough! I totally forgot that there was going to be another series until I stumbled across an interview with Sam Esmail yesterday! So gave the first episode a try and found myself cringing throughout before falling asleep

Summary

Think I’m out!

Ha, that was my reaction to most of the second season! Was thinking recently about how much I’m looking forward to more Legion actually.

As an overall answer to this thread, have on the go in some form or another
Star Trek: Discovery
House of Cards
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Preacher
Archer

Yeah I remember neither of us being particularly enamoured with the second season! All “style”, no substance.

Shit I still need to watch Legion! Loved the first couple of episodes with a friend and then we’ve both been a bit busy so with binge through them at some point. Has a second series been confirmed then? Noah Hawley’s really had a great year what with this and Fargo (quite rated series 3)!

Most recent series of Preacher (the show doesn’t seem to be getting much love) and Archer were both decent! How’s Star Trek Discovery?

@Twinkletoes I still have one episode of the Americans left to watch :open_mouth:

I finally started this season last week. I botched the recordings of the first two episodes as I didn’t realise we didn’t have the HD channel I’d set to record. So I had everything from Ep3 onwards but was waiting for a way to watch the first two, which I’ve now done. It’s still soooo good. The whole Paige/Elizabeth dynamic looks like it’s going to be brilliant.

Yeah, supposed to be landing in February! I’ve only seen season 1 of Fargo, need to get back on that! :open_mouth:

Yeah still about halfway through the newest seasons of each of those. Archer has been very much diminishing returns for me, but still enjoyable enough

Only watched the pilot but looks promising so far! :+1:

Ah nice! Well I don’t want to spoil anything but the family storylines really take centre stage this season with the spy stuff occasionally rising above the surface and hitting like a brick! Russell / Rhys are terrific as always throughout but Holly Taylor really is such a scene stealer!

Started watching this, it’s very very silly and very funny. Quite bang on about how you feel at that age and surprisingly poignant too.

Oh yeah, you’ll love it especially if you were blown away by the visual feast of Legion. The second series was probably my favourite but its a close call :+1:

Yeah agreed but of all the reinventions, Dreamland probably suited the show the most and the shorter season length kept the series focussed.

Aces! Might give it a try this evening and let you know what I make of it.

I was a big fan of both series, some of the best sci-fi I’ve ever seen on TV. All the synth actors ability to look so totally robotic always amazes me.

Been watching Mindhunters.

Episode 1 was Weird and Badly written. Episode two was really good when the main fella was talking to Ed Kemper.

I’ll keep watching it but it’s odd how some of it’s so good whilst some of it’s so bad.

Nirvanna the Band the Show
i find it nice
