I regularly reach the point where I think I could never really fall in love with a relatively conventional indie guitar band record again, and then something like this comes along and it’s like being 15 again.
It’s difficult to pin down what is so special about it, because it’s definitely not reinventing the wheel, but really it is just the quality of the songs. If you can imagine Richard Thompson fronting Dinosaur Jr, with Johnny Marr guesting on guitar you’ll be close.
