Hello, I don’t normally make threads but I couldn’t find one specifically to talk about things that really DELIGHTED me lately.

On Saturday my atd and I went to a Japanese cafe. The food was mediocre but I had one of these:

It was great! It comes with a mini plunger and you push a glass marble down and it jiggles about when you drink! Delightful.

Another thing I have been delighted by is @HannahIngramMoore’s Conclave roundups, it has been very enlightening learning about all the potential popes and, delightfully, some of them seem pretty decent.

My boyfriend has invented a thing called Catvent as an excuse to give me a present every day in the run up to my birthday. One of the presents was incense for a little cat ornament. The smoke billows out of his ears. He didn’t do it on purpose but we were both pretty delighted when he realises that’s literally a “Cat vent”

(Also that the Conclave is a Catholic event in which the spectacle of smoke is quite central)

The coots in the park across from my flat have had cootlings and they’re so cute and weird looking. There are two families a little bit apart in age, and it’s delightful seeing them regularly and seeing how quickly they grow

I saw a monkey video on Instagram that was so cute it made me well up
The existence of Toffee Popcorn Baileys (haven’t tried it yet)
Being made the head of the Catholic church
The fact that I’m moving to Spain next week

Also recently on the ramune bandwagon and love it!

Some ramune facts:

  • The drink was created by a Scottish guy who moved to Japan in the late 1800s
  • It was the closest he could get to making lemonade
  • He marketed it as ‘lemonade’ but the local population couldn’t pronounce it and warped ‘lemonade’ into ‘ra-mun-ay’
  • That marble stopper is an old London design called a Codd-neck bottle
  • If Lidl do a Japan week they have bottles of Hana brand ramune for £1.69.

I hope you’ve found these ramune facts delightful

There was a delightful moment in D&D the other day where a series of dice rolls (for the nerds, it involved the Wild Magic table) conspired to make the druid who was transformed into essentially a big tusked cat (Moorbounder) be temporarily surrounded by butterfiles and flower petals. I then made them roll again to see if they got distracted by them, and with a 1 on the d20 they were.

My friend who’s character it was drew it afterwards

Things that have delighted me recently:

The Conclave (2024) fandom
The Conclave (2025, Pervo’s instagram) fandom
How pretty Thailand is and how rad it is to be in the swimming pool when it’s sunny

and

MY NEWBORN BABY NEPHEW :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: he is healthy, cute and has a sensible name, truly a treble winner. I am thrilled!!

Actually I will add: “the fact that my newborn baby nephew was born on the first day of the 2025 Conclave” because that is fantastic. What a day. Also the anniversary of Tonbridge Angels FC being promoted to the Conference South for the first time!

I’m absolutely delighted by all the players in s1 of The Devil’s Plan. Genuinely, delightful bunch. I might move to Korea and befriend them.

I just dont know. They’re all so fantastic. I keep changing my mind who my bff will be. I’ll reflect on it when i get to the last episode.
