What's the best restaurant meal you've ever had?

For me, I’m going to say Bubala a few weeks ago. Yes, yes, it’s a wanky London place, but it was the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted, and they just kept bringing it over to your table in a way that seemed endless.

This was the food:

Pickle plate
Laffa bread (ngf) (unlimited)
Labneh, confit garlic, za’atar
Hummus, burnt butter, pine nuts (*)

Oyster mushroom skewer, tamari, coriander seed
Smacked cucumbers, tahini, chilli crunch
Halloumi, black seed honey

Carrots, tamarind yoghurt, vadouvan butter, dates
Butterhead, radicchio, preserved lemon, pomegranate & sesame
Confit potato latkes, toum, Aleppo chilli

The tasting menu at Etxebarri. Even though it was years ago I can still taste some of the courses when I think about them (which I do, often).

Have to go with unsure

Within my terrible memory, the tasting menu at No 12 in Nottingham. 2 hours plus of insane, vegan fanciness. Was pretty incredible.

You’re having a laffa!

Midwestern food with matched craft beer in 2015, got a michelin star around that time too

Yeah, it does seem a bit hit and miss, but we had a fabulous time/meal. Will go back.

Was tempted to say Oscar and Rosie’s. So sad.

Yeah, it’s Detroit style. Only been once at a pop up but a couple people I know have said it’s their fave now.

Pizzamisu for me though I think
