Youngest is mid-20s; oldest is over 60. Great bunch of GBOLs, my friends.

There’s a story about why we don’t seem to have many friends the same age as us but it’s a bit emo for a Friday.

One of my favourite work colleagues from my old job was prob about 30 years older than me. I get on well with Countdowners in their 60s and 70s but wouldn’t really consider them friends.

Youngest friend is 19, so 6 years younger. #friendpaedo

One of my best mates is in his late fifties. I’m obviously 28. He’s cool as fuck, completely selfless, probably done more for me than any other mate, never asks for anything back beyond a few band and book recommendations now and again.

One of my closest friends is 22 years older. In 25 they are 47

Youngest? Well I get on with some 19 year olds (6 years) but actual close mates only 2 years younger. In general the majority of my friends are either the same age or a fair bit older.

Seem to just get on with them better. Only person I’ve kept in touch with after my last job is in her mid 30s and many good friends are early 30 late 20s. This is they never feel like older people as they tend are all people who have not settled down and have an as messy life as my own.

One of my closest friends is 50 next year, I’m 33. Her husband is 55, and we’re also close. She’s like a cool aunt in lots of ways - gives me way better advice and support than my mum.
