A friend drove me and some others to the Hay literature festival in 2009. I was so hungover. I think they went to see Robert Peston or something in the morning, I only had tickets for Susie Dent in the afternoon. I bought a breakfast sandwich in some cafe that might have been something like a castle, but that sandwich- fried eggs, bacon, tomato and whatever else. I’ll never forget it.
