The disco cauliflower at Maray is a contender - slow roasted cauli, harissa, tahini, pomegranate, yoghurt and parsley etc. All the good stuff.

One time, due to a range of circumstances, i was able to order from Nobu for breakfast in HK. Had the salmon and scrambled eggs donburi, two days in a row, and was just so bloody good.

Also i do have a big jar of jalapeños in the fridge which i snack on.

Either pizza in Naples back in 2011, or a a really simple tomato based pasta dish in Praiano later that week. Food’s pretty good in Italy. Actually, I had some Bruschetta in Rome back in the mid 00s which really was incredible too. So yeah, more Italian food.

AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE

Now you mention it, I did have a fantastic pear calvados as my ’avec’ with the coffee

Probably when I first had a spicy curry. A chicken madras. Couldn’t believe what I was eating.

On that note, the food I had in Kerala was incredible. So yeah, India as well as Italy. What other countries start with I - I should try their food.

this reminds me

the shawarma from L’as Falafel on Rue Rosiers in Paris is the most delicious shawarma north of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Nutella is always the best thing, which shows how broken/childish my palette is. The tea smoked shredded chicken I get from my local Chinese is also incredible. Years and years ago my friend ordred me a dish at this Turkish place in Berlin that had like, chicken doner meat served on rice with a creamy cheesy sauce, and it was to die for. But I’ve looked for any sort of similar Turkish dish and couldn’t find anything. It was so good man.

Had a steak with shaved truffle at one of the most expensive restaurants in town circa 2014. Didn’t pay for it, my girlfriend had won some gift certificates. I’ve probably had equally good things but that’s what came to mind.
