What's the point of having all these different kinds of pasta?

Rice knows what’s going on, just one shape.

I’m fine with like wholemeal pasta and shit like that, but there are too many shapes, and not every shape needs a name.

Same goes for potatoes.

Are there too many kinds of pasta?

  • Yes
  • No
  • Not yet, but sometime soon

Different shapes and thickness for different needs. Imagine spaghetti tuna mayo?

Would you eat at a restaurant called Faster Pasta?

  • Yes, I already have.
  • Yes, I haven’t but I would.
  • No, unless they renamed themselves Fasta Pasta.
  • No, unless they admitted they were a cafe, not a restaurant.
  • No, I would not under any circumstances.

This ain’t rice

What do you think the most recent pasta shape that someone has invented is? I reckon those shell shaped ones.

this reminds me of a thread I was going to start which was…

you can tell the difference between good and bad pasta. But is the same true of white long grain (ie standard) rice?

  • yep
  • nope
