I hadn’t listened to The Smith’s in a good 8 years at least before this. Sort of thought that they wouldn’t be as good as I thought they were. Thought I’d be cringing at younger me for thinking the lyrics were great. Nope. Still incredible. And the lyrics are amazing, he’s just a completely different writer to his solo career in The Smiths. Especially the self Titled and Hatful of Hollow stuff where it’s so scuzzy and horny.
