I’d like to apologise to The New Abnormal for not voting for any of it’s songs even though the album is better than at least two of their others which I did pick songs from.

New York City Cops is obviously the better song and deserves it’s spot on Is This It, but I have a big soft spot for When It Started, admittedly partly for a dweeby reason.
I had the soundtrack to the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man and this song was in it along with Macy Gray and Alien Ant Farm, so 9-year-old me imagined the lyrics as Peter Parker moaning about Harry Osborn. Yeah man The Strokes, so cool, so authentic, so New York.
Great song anyway imo

I’m afraid I’m a Strokes simpleton and didn’t vote for anything after the first album. Was mad in to that at the time, but my interest in them totally dropped off a cliff once the second album landed. Have added checking out the rest of their career to my musical to-do list and am looking forward to hearing some good stuff in this thread.
