Could pick 10 from Trompe le Monde alone
Probably an unpopular choice but I’d go for U-Mass.
Never heard it
Why are they playing it wrong, don’t like it
Are we acknowledging that Pixies recorded output ceased in 1991?
I … but … huh?
Have to admit that although I was introduced to Trompe le monde around the time of release, I didn’t start listening to Pixies until Fight Club came out.
For me they’re the classic example of not paying attention to “indie” music in the 90s. My listening was dominated by metal, industrial, punk, electronic, g-funk and other popular hip-hop.
this is tough eh
sounds like you had a bostin’ 90s tbqfh
There are very few advantages to being old but here’s one - this is my tee shirt from the ‘Doolittle’ tour.
Was good but in hindsight, a bit of 120 Minutes thrown in would have been great.
No. 13 Baby just for the outro
they’re good at outros aren’t they
Oh this’ll be fun, the perfect balance for these threads where I like but don’t love them - so exploring them again id have a good time, and I can also probably quite happily kingmake and have undue voting influence!
Don’t get me started (whehey)
1989 I think it was mate
Just asked ChatGPT to submit its favourite Pixies songs. It didn’t really understand the rules, but it came up with these eventually:
- “Debaser” - 2 points
- “Where Is My Mind?” - 2 points
- “Gigantic” - 1 point
- “Monkey Gone to Heaven” - 1 point
- “Here Comes Your Man” - 1 point
- “Wave of Mutilation” - 1 point
- “Hey” - 1 point
- “Velouria” - 1 point
I know very little about Pixies outside the big songs but they sound like My Thing so this’ll be interesting.
