Strange to think that 100 Broken Windows is probably my all time favorite record yet they are a band currently I could care less about.

They were my first proper gig, though not til 2005 (wanted to see them in 2003 but no way would I have gotten in). Was still really good though and I was really into Warnings/Promises at the time.

It’s funny how dull and uninspired they sound these days. My other half still loves seeing them live (and I invariably get dragged along to these gigs) but they’re just so…meh. Beige.

Remember watching this at the y club in Chelmsford (only underage rock night in town :smiley:) on the Friday night that it happened, with my mate Nick. In the haze of the vodka we’d downed under the viaduct this looked to be just about the best thing that has ever happened. Well jel.

(On the strength of that we went to see them a shitload of times over the following few years. Think we agreed I could have roddy if he could have Bob, who looked like the ultimate badass when holding a bass)

i reckon they remained a pretty decent live band up until the hiatus. the best-of tour in 2007 was really good, their setlist at the gig i went to was wonderful (although would have been a bit more powerful a few years earlier i guess). since they reconvened with the new lineup though they’ve gotten really dull though yeah, adding keys and three part harmonies to old tracks that really don’t need it. a couple of songs sounded decent when i saw them last but was mostly a bit shit.

Last time I saw them was the 100 Broken Windows tour which was… 2010 I think. They were still good then (but they were playing their best album). I saw the a few times around late 90’s/2000 and they were immense. In fact first gig I saw was Ash with Idlewild supporting in '98 so Hope sf Important era.

Hmm, can’t remember. I do remember that there was more BBC highlights on TV at the time. So there must be some footage that needs to be uploaded to 'tube. They were probably my favourite band at this time. Saw them at Reading too :slight_smile:

Sadly, if memory serves me right, it was Chicks at third billing on that tour. Dari was quite a tune though.
