9pm on a Saturday (or any other night) have never ever queued and there’s never more than one other person in each aisle. Don’t know how people can cope with anything else.

This place can be quite negative and dispiriting without realising it

the opposite to this is hardly a widely held dis opinion is it?

I think I’m just quite sensitive to threads like this. It’s why I always leave here and Twitter. Too much ‘noise’. I take things to heart when I shouldn’t.

About 95% of this thread is just in jokes and banter though. Agree with you about the boards in general though.

that’s like just relevant to one example of a thread though.

Oh I get that. It’s just me being daft.

it’s not really a ‘thing’ that people view the boards as really positive and friendly. but maybe I’m wrong.

This one is a but meta but it rarely pays to think of everything in ‘black and white’ terms — right and wrong

This is probably more the internet in general but I especially notice it on here

think I am a fan of black and white thinking, think most things have a right and wrong and the only problem is when not enough factors are taken into account, each of which have a black and white position, and an inappropriate generalisations are made

not sure if I am joking or not

Not daft - I’ve left twice, deleted an account one time. Sometimes things get too much or you notice an effect on you and you need time out. That’s a reasonable response to the situation, and it’s important to preserve your mental health. I find this place uplifting and good most of the time, but sometimes (and this may be due to my internal weather rather than anything else) it feels claustrophobic, and that’s fine.

I guess but to hold the same view in ten years? Don’t think there’s any good reason for that

It’s why I try celery every so often, just to reaffirm my belief it’s the devil’s vegetable

was really surprised how bad celery tastes, always assumed it was fairly neutral
