Nah that’s bollocks, I’d say since adding the function most people who use it regularly will do it this way

oh of course i could NEVER use an instagram filter, i only use the manual adjustments

Guys, I’m not on Instagram.

using filters would conflict too much with my personal brand

obviously as I said above, I did before they added the manual edit, but if you really want to criticise me/a huge number of instagram users in that way, you should be talking about those of us who use VCSO to edit photos first, before loading them in, and have even created our own reusable presets for different lighting and subjects…

Lemme just take a n00d and see which I prefer

It’s always the same changes I make as well, increase: lux, brightness, contrast, saturation (sometimes), vignette always maxed out. Occasionally I decrease the brightness innit.

Just going to assign people filters who aren’t on Instagram. You’re definitely an Amaro man @marckee, amiritelads?!

I find subconciously that I change the filters to suit the seasons. I’ll admit I’ll edit once I’ve picked a filter but my Winter 1 and 2 posts are a lot darker than my Summer images (I’m not referring to outside photography here).

Alright, Anthony Weiner

I have never noticed the manual settings thing that pniks and EmO are going on about but then I assume he’s just fishing for reactions with that sort of OTT posting about how everyone uses it

I rarely bother with filters now. 90% of them look the same. I miss the frames too.

I wouldn’t say you’re the average, regular user theo…

It’s on the ‘edit’ section, when you get to the point of applying filters. Working in the area I do, I can actually tell you it is fact that since introducing it the majority do, but hey, your anecdotal evidence is WAY more accurate

Oh the layers are going so deep now I can’t work out if I fished you with my dig or you’re now fishing me differently…

dammit

I actually checked just now (so you got me there) and they’re all just the same settings that have been there for as long as I remember, although I guess they’re a bit more accessible now? I used to have to use them all the time due to that bug where you’d take a photo in Instagram and then it whipped it 90 degrees so you had to use tilt to put it back. I long ceased to take photos in the app as a result and just import now.

TBH using all those settings just seems a faff plus my new phone seems to take more vibrant and clearer pictures anyway so I’d guess that’s why I’ve used the filters less and less. Only really necessary to bring out a patch that’s in shadow.

Not sure, but one of: Lo-Fi, Lark, Rise, Valencia, Juno
