No over-thinking, no spreadsheets, no calculations, just hit me with a top 3 for each topic on instinct alone.
Jungleland (Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run)
Judy And The Dream Of Horses (Belle & Sebastian - If You’re Feeling Sinister)
New York I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down (LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver)
Dendron (edited in - can’t believe I missed that) from Home Like No Place… by the Hotelier
Tsundoku from Hope Fading Nightly by Tellison
Leaving the Valley from Phoenix by Pedro the Lion
A Certain Romance - Arctic Monkeys
Home - LCD Soundsystem (Still think they had left with that and never done anything again it would have been amazing)
A Few Word For The Firing Squad - Run The Jewels (they actually do quite a good line in final album tracks tbf)
Whole New World/Pretend World (SOPHIE - Oil Of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides)
Good Morning Captain (Slint - Spiderland)
Does Not Suffice (Joanna Newsom - Have One On Me)
A Certain Romance is the one but they are another lot that have amazing closing tracks. Jewellers Hand, don’t particularly have anything against I Wanna Be Yours, quite like the Ultracheese and Perfect Sense is probably the worst for being too short.
First three that came to mind after a quick scan through my top rated albums on RYM:
The The - Giant (Soul Mining)
Lloyd Cole and The Commotions - Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken? (Rattlesnakes)
The Wake - Here Comes Everybody (Here Comes Everybody)
‘Twilight At Carbon Lake’ from Microcastle by Deerhunter.
‘Ambulance Blues’ from On The Beach by Neil Young.
‘Half Sister’ from Relatives In Descent by Protomartyr.
