What's Your Top 3?: Musician's biographies/autobiographies

No over-thinking, no spreadsheets, no calculations, just hit me with a top 3 for each topic on instinct alone.

Born To Run - Springsteen
Things The Grandchildren Should Know - Mark Oliver Everett
Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys - Viv Albertine

Richard Hell - I Dreamed I Was A Very Clean Tramp
Mark E Smith - Renegade
Patti Smith - Just Kids

Heavier Than Heaven - Charles R. Cross (about Cobain)

no idea if it stands up/peddles conspiracy myths, but I musta read that 10 times in my teen Cobain-freak phase

Mark Lanegan - Sing Backwards and Weep
Sinead O’Connor - Rememberings
Miki Berenyi - Fingers Crossed

(Have only just read the latter 2 of these, so probably recency bias).

Edit: Updating this because in my desire to follow the rules and not overthink it, I accidentally underthought and forgot my favourite musician/author:

Kristin Hersh - Don’t Suck, Don’t Die: Giving Up Vic Chesnutt
Kristin Hersh - Paradoxical Undressing / Rat Girl
Mark Lanegan - Sing Backwards and Weep

My sister loved Crying in H Mart and she had never listened to Japanese Breakfast before reading it, which I am using as evidence that it is an actually good book and I’m not just biased.

Must have read these in about two days. Never listened to a note of his music but what a fun writer.

Brian Wilson - ‘Wouldn’t it be Nice’
Jeff Tweedy - ‘Let’s Go’
Dean Wareham - ‘Black Postcards’

Honourable mention to Roger Shepherd - ‘In Love with these times: My life with Flying Nun Records’

Just Kids by Patti Smith and Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl by Carrie Brownstein are the only two that I’ve read and thought were actually good books, but maybe I’m not reading enough. Could see myself enjoying the Michelle Zauner and Brian Wilson ones.

Added to list of things to read. This thread is going to be bad (good) for that, isn’t it?
