They’re not different things. They’re quite literally exactly that same thing. Sliders has replaced flip-flop as a catchall term.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone call a pair of sliders flip flops, or vice versa

Assuming you have a maximum food capacity and appreciate variety they’re not pointless.
Both flip up at the front and flop down at the back, same thing.
Just pick one and have it in full size imo.
