They are good. I try to avoid those ones that have that pollen which ruins any clothing it comes into contact with though. I forget their name.

Aye any with the stamen showing can get tae.

I would suggest you buy better candles. Living room smells like oud wood* at the moment and it is delightful.

*Lynx Voodoo.

I buy flowers for Mrs F every now and again. I’ll admit I’ll do it if I feel like I’ve been a bit of an arse, but I’ll also do it if I feel she needs a cheer up, or if it just seems like she’d like some. But I do it a lot less than I used to, because of guilt about shipping flowers all the way from Kenya. I know the response to this is to buy in season, but she’s a gardener and allotmenteer so she already has plenty of in season flowers in the spring and summer.

Last time was probably about a month ago.

lilies

What a brilliant word.

Hahaha. It was more

12.05pm
GEOFF: Here I bought you these
WIFE: Oh they’re beautiful. Why have you bought me flowers?
GEOFF: No reason. Just because, my love. Anyway I really better be going to get a decent spot for the final *legs it

Actually that’s another crap thing about flowers. Apparently some of them are only allowed for certain uses. So lilies are a no no, because they’re for funerals even though Mrs F… likes lilies, and daffodils are too cheapskate even though they’re my mum’s favourite flower.

Have I made it up? I’m not sure to be honest.

No it definitely exists! I just think it’s neat.

I’m calling bullshit on that.

Daffodils are fine for when you’re feeling a bit broke, or you’ve gone out and bought other stuff.

And liles and funerals? Never heard that before (although I haven’t been to many funerals)

Yeah, lilies for funerals/death. Seem to remember seeing it on sitcom but can’t remember which one… We still get them though as they look cool, but the pollen is lethal on light coloured shirts and they smell rank once they’re past their best.

On the daffodils I compensate by getting her a weekly delivery for a month after her birthday, and since that is ruinously expensive that’s fine.

Bought some on Tuesday for my mum (birthday).

Regularly have daffodils throughout their season as they are the best.

Last week, roses and peonies

Well that is not how I would have spelled that word.

Could’ve shafted myself

I don’t doubt it’s right, I just didn’t know that’s how it was spelled.

They’re beautiful, xylo! :rose:

We had the pollen on a white shirt. The solution was to hang the shirt in the window. The sunlight bleaches it out.
