Turns out that lot took me a about 11 litres.
Our dishwasher uses about 9.5 litres on Eco setting, which is what we use, twice a week.
But then I’d be paying to run it too.
Utility room. Along with other assorted crap like shoes, microwave, tool etc. Great thread. Would read again.
I think ours has a running cost of about £10 a year. Life cycle costs of dishwasher and hand-washing are pretty similar over an average of 7 years too.
My Dad always insists that before anything is put in the dishwasher, it should be thoroughly rinsed clean in the sink first. Otherwise the dishwasher will get clogged up with dirt.
The dishwasher is really just a holding cell for wet plates.
