this is the spirit of the thread - it doesn’t just need to be worst songs. Just ones where if you’re getting started with a band’s sound it either makes no sense for giving an idea of their general output, is largely impenetrable etc etc

I was amused by Warpaint covering Fugazi’s I’m So Tired and imagining someone going away thinking, “I’ll check out Fugazi!”. I mean not only is not much like Fugazi generally, if you grabbed the album it’s off you’re picking up Instrument, which is also probably the last album of theirs you’d start someone off on.
(According to Wikipedia it’s a widely covered Fugazi song which baffles me further. Like discovering loads of big bands cover Blur’s Top Man or something.)
