which artists, in your opinion, have put out 5 classic albums on the spin? with polls!

not many, I’d wager

Stevie Wonder?

Are we voting for number of classic albums they’ve put out in a row, or a score out of ten for how much we agree they have put out five classic albums in a row?

the latter

As I think the ’director with best 3 film run’ thread proves, it’s nigh on impossible to maintain your highest level of work (and luck) over that time period. 5 classic albums in a row is way too much to ask for

Even in both the Bowie & Prince examples though there is clearly one (slightly) inferior record that ruins the possible runs

If Prince had released the Black Album after Sign O The Times that would be an all time great five album run, but Lovesexy betrays the fact that it was thrown together quickly to replace it (four or five great songs but a fair bit of filler).

As it is I would drop Lovesexy off the end and add Dirty Mind and Controversy at the beginning to make a stunning six album run.

I think the one is Blue-For The Roses-Court and Spark-Hissing of Summer Lawns-Hejira

That’s a solid 10/10
