I have a LEAST favourite border change, get a load of this: the Yorkshire Lancashire border used to run through the middle of Todmorden town hall, but then they changed it so the town is now all in Yorkshire, thus eliminating the only interesting thing about Todmorden.

still not sure how i feel about what is now southern oxfordshire being ripped out of berkshire, where it naturally belongs

i have some respect for everyone’s disregard for the durand line as a result

i think brittany should be in the uk

the enclaves of bangladesh in india which are basically bangladeshi villages surrounded by india are a pretty interesting bit of bordering

there haven’t been that many border changes have there? most of what i can think of is establishment of borders where there weren’t any.

annoyingly i never made it - something happened with the government and the thing i was supposed to go and do there was no longer necessary. heading back to nyc instead. bit annoying because i’ve wanted to go there for ages, but no disaster, there’ll be another chance at some point

The one in Belgium/Netherlands where a restaurant is split down the middle between the two borders and half of the customers have to move across the room because one side of the restaurant has to close based upon the different licensing laws between the two countries.

Brasserie Den Engel in Baarle-Nassau.

The Belgian town of Baarle-Hertog is an enclave in the south of the Netherlands surrounded by the town of Baarle-Nassau. Many houses are located in both countries, with the kitchen in Belgium and the living room in the Netherlands, or vice versa. Border markers are drawn on the street throughout the two towns. mainly as a tourist attraction.
