Highland Park 12 is a great lower end entry single malt. Hard to beat it.

Also second Jura.

Not a big whiskey man but I used to enjoy a Jameson, was the only whiskey I could drink straight. Sometimes used to order it with water and get weird looks from the barman as if I was a weird old man.

Then I spent the end of a New Years Eve one year lying in my friend’s wet garden puking and I’ve sadly never been able to drink it since. My stomach turns at the slightest sip.

Didn’t Aldi or Lidl’s own brand single malt win awards not too long ago? Think that’s usually around the Ā£16/17 mark?

LIDL’s Ben Bracken single malt is fine for the price. I think it might actually be old stock from Tamnavulin or Tomintoul (one of the distilleries beginning with T anyway)

Aldi’s Glen Marnoch is a 25 yo apparently. It’s a very, very nice whisky for the price but I’m very sceptical of it being a 25 yo (didn’t taste rich enough).

Lagavulin touched for the very first time

It’s great for whisky drinkers of all vintages. I’m never without a bottle.

Ā£24 on Ocado, not too shabby (if it’s nice)

Didn’t get round to it last night but will report back.

A lot of cheaper whiskeys have colours added, I don’t think the light colour is that unusual

no it’s not at all, i’ve had a few glorious whiskys with light colour. look forward to your report :tumbler_glass: :+1:
