My requests were genuine.

Yay! I’m pretty hyped for the possibility of a HGATR Slowdive. I have thoughts…

Yes, sorry about that. I remembered a few mentions of them but was amused to find out that they mostly came from you and @Avery following your latest posts. A few others have asked for them also though.

Might be best not to get your hopes up too much about it.

… has anyone mentioned Husker Du yet?

Slowdive are definitely not a monday band, by the way.

I genuinely dont think I have ever heard the name Slowdive before

He’ll be along shortly. I think it works on Candyman rules

I have listened to Candy Apple Grey 3 times this week. It’s one of their lesser albums, but it’s still a 9/10 album. The Grant Hart tracks on it are incredible.

Not doing them on principle because Hugh Cornwell was an utter prick when he came in my old pub.

Unfortunately this is my situation with what feels like about 90% of the artists named in the Name an artist you reckon no one has thought about in years thread.

What did he do?

Generally rude, kept trying to jump the queue at the bar. Proper ‘don’t you know who I am’ vibes. Bit of a creep too.

yeah tbf they don’t strike me as particularly pleasant people

Warehouse is the only Husker Du album I own, bought some time in the distant past after hearing Kerbdog’s cover of New Day Rising. It’s a decent enough album and has some good stuff on it, but if I’m honest there are also lots of songs on there that don’t do so much for me so I very rarely go back to it.

Any thoughts on which album I’d be best having a listen to work out whether I’m missing out? (the original Husker Du version of New Day Rising, the song, seems great so the rest of that album might be the obvious choice).

4/5

Debut album - 5, On the Turn - 4. So I’ll go with a 4.5 overall.

I’ve had so much fun at Kerbdog gigs over the year. I first saw them supporting Therapy? a very long time ago

That’s a tough question, Zen Arcade is in my opinion their best and most important album, but I would suggest Flip Your Wig probably. FWY is consistent and builds to a fantastic psychedelic come down. It’s probably their most accessible album and the last three songs have something really magical about them.

Will try to give it a listen sometime soon. Thanks
