my dream of owning a chest freezer died when I started following the guidance around how long you SHOULD store frozen food

I would watch a film about a rule-breaking detective called Chest Freezer

Only mugs follow those guidelines, mugs.

Remember spending quite a lot of time hanging over/into a chest freezer as a kid when my mum would send me down into the cellar to get something but the cellar was poorly lit, and almost completely pitch black round the corner where the freezer was, so would spend ages hanging over into the freezer trying to find what I had been sent to get. Remember really liking it because it was like a lucky dip into a pitch black abyss and might find a 5 year old choc ice at the end of it

4 fridges, one of which operates as a tv stand. Living my best life

I have two fridges!

I had a chest freezer in an old rented house and at the end of the year when we had to clean it out there was a Tesco carrier bag half full of loose hash browns

No-one knew who put them there and no-one ever admitted it!

how do you delineate items between the two?

Just my ex’s parents, they had one in the garage full of bread. Actually they’ve since divorced so I expect they didn’t continue to share a chest freezer.

We used to have one when I was a student, I made a little snowman on a side plate and then popped it in the chest freezer and it sat there for about 18 months. Got a picture of two of my housemates with it somewhere when they found it when they were emptying it after we’d all moved out

Parents-in-law have two of them. Both rammed full. They raid all the reduced stuff whenever they go shopping, chuck it in the freezer and it pretty much stays there forever as far as I can tell.

I’ve got two kitchens, mate.

If you really want a chest freezer but don’t want the hassle or expense get your normal freezer and put it on its back on the floor, maverick!
