I have worked with him for five years and the max people in our office has been 4, mostly 3 (with us 2 being the most talkative) and often just us two. He must be getting up there. Top 20 easy.

I must have said thank you and nothing else to a lot of people. Then a tier below that of people I’ve only said “thanks” or “cheers” to.

Then “ta”, of course.

Is that the least you could ever had said to someone?

Does a grunt count? And is a grunt shorter than “ta” anyway?

Probably a girl I was going to try and talk to and ended up saying ‘H…’ then making it sound like a cough and walking away.

Like that time at Freshwater on the Isle of Wight in 1982 when I said the first “G” of Garibaldi to a girl holding a whippet before I thought better of it.

Its a very interesting question really. Most people would want the people they love to correlate to the ppl they talk to most. It might not be the case though. If its not it makes you think should it be?

In terms of people I’ve met but said the least to, Evan Dando is right up there.

He was playing in Nottingham once and I was helping out at the gig. We were introduced but I just stood there smiling and didn’t say a word.
