Herbert Hoover’s pretty unusual in that his term as President was possibly the least interesting thing he did with his life. He was successful enough as a mining engineer to retire 17 years before becoming President and still lived for a further 31 years after leaving office

Andrew Jackson killed a man in a duel over his wife’s honour before he became president, and when in office, once got punched in the face by a sailor.

He achieved many… things.
