ok @meowington et al: WHY do short people (#notallshortpeople) book the emergency exit seats on flights!? As a Tall Person™ with Long Legs© it is infuriating to me to see some 5ft BASTARD sat in the emergency exit seat while I have to squeeze my legs into a normal seat and have my knees squashed against the seat in front for the duration of the flight. VERY INSENSITIVE, short people.

Well, it’s all relative.

I was the shortest boy in my year in sixth form, but it was pretty nice to go to a gig in Tokyo and to be able to see over everyone’s heads.

I dunno, why don’t tall people just pay for the seat and stop whinging about not getting the more leg room seat?

My bf and I always say we’re fine with long flights as we’re both about 5’6" and never have a problem on a plane. I do feel sorry for tall people but then they get to see things at gigs so swings and roundabouts really

They are more agile and can get the emergency exit open quicker - your long, clumsy limbs will get in the way and hinder the process.

I always try to book it in advance OBVIOUSLY but sometimes they’re all booked up and then when I board the flight I see someone really short sitting there. It honestly makes me so angry.

Emergency exit seats are the only ones where you can guarantee that the person in front of you will not shove their chair back into your knees as soon as the seatbelt light goes off, I guess.

Even short people have that as an issue if a tall person is sat in front of them.

We don’t go for exit row seats as my girlfriend is so short that she needs the little footrest to put her feet on.

Most screens tilt. If they didn’t, they they wouldn’t be able to cater for sitting behind someone who puts their chair back as well as sitting behind someone who doesn’t.

No I mean on the exit aisle, the screen is in the arm rest and you have to look down to watch the screen.

I understand how the chair back/not screen tilt works.
But I am a short person and I really don’t see it as an issue if someone puts their seat back. I’ll just put mine back…and so on until we’re at the back of the plane.
