We watched Despicable Me on Sunday, he was laughing along loving it (especially the fart gun). As soon as it finished he turned to me and said ‘what was that film about?’

Lovely stuff

I think she would probably enjoy those. I showed her 101 Dalmations and she quite enjoyed that (the original Disney obviously). The issue is really time and middle-class guilt. Nursery 5 days a week means there’s not time to watch a film in the evenings, then we don’t want to just load her up on TV during the weekend either so she doesn’t see many.

She’s so far also watched Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Cinderella (classic Disney), Jungle Book (classic Disney), Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Tangled, Frozen, Star Wars, Sing and Moana

Aside from Frozen, Tangled and Beauty and the Beast, I think she would take or leave any of them. Tempted to try her on Empire Strikes Back soon if I can and was also trying to work out if Pirates of the Caribbean would be too scary, as she does like Pirates…

(I have never seen a Beethoven film btw because I’m too old for that to have been a thing.)

We’ve done a New Hope and Empire Strikes back.

I’m disappointed that Moana hasn’t fully eclipsed Frozen in the mind’s of our youth, it’s a wonderful piece of work IMO.

Please report back with your findings if and when she watches a Beethoven film (Beethoven’s 2nd in particular)

my little one is totally obsessed with My Little Pony right now - particularly the freaky full length film where they leave equestria via a mirror portal and occupy a magical parallel world where they’re all anime high schools girls

it’s all rather unsettling

I think she did enjoy Moana but we don’t have a DVD of it at all so it’s harder for it to take hold and Frozen’s songs have been about a lot longer.

Uh oh, that’s the bottom rung of a dangerous ladder to climb…

Fair points all round there Theo, yet again you’ve proved what a reasonable man you are

Is this My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on Netflix?

She likes that one too, although the wild racism 3 or 4 episodes in when the Zebra turns up unsettled me a fair bit (apparently they have Donkeys representing Latin Americans and stuff, too).

Go for the Aardman Pirates film.

you’ve seen it then?

If only!

it’s all dodgy as fuck

Excuse me.

Speaking of SM:TV Live:

Will see if I have access to it. I have PotC on DVD so I know I could dig it out to watch it. Probably way too old for her.

Oh @anon5266188 I remember we also took her to see The Lego Batman movie which she enjoyed although it’s a bit long for her. She has just got herself a Batgirl outfit via a sticker chart (her choice) although I was a bit sad because the wife showed her this one:

Which is really girly. And so she wanted that one and I grabbed it. But obviously the new Batgirl is far cooler:

In the least-weird way it’s possible to compliment another man’s infant daughter on the internet, she seems like a properly cool kid mate
