i know the can says not to boil them, but sometimes I boils my baked beans, in order to cook the toast I have submerged in them.

I deliberately leave my beans on the boil to reduce them down. I like it when you go to a cafe and the beans have obviously been sat in a pot for ages and have become a bit gunky. This is my attempt to recreate that.

YES! i pretty much do the same. you have to be a bit careful, so as not to completely destroy the rigidity of the beans, not that’s a bad thing, but my preference is for a sturdy bean in a thick gloop.

hate to go against the grain but last night I roasted the broccoli where usually might have boiled or steamed it

no regrets, it was delicious

When I 1st left home and my cooking skills were very basic I once attempted to melt some cheese in boiling water - it didn’t really work
