Move all hard brexiters to Wales, have it be a brexit paradise while the cool kids chill and adopt the euro

Just looked up the second referendum on the Lisbon treaty - seems ridiculous that there was a (pretty-much uniform) 20% swing from the 2008 referendum to the 2009. I knew the result was different, but is there a particular reason why?

What happens if the ref says hard brexit or Mays deal? Are we not just all fucked then?

Yes. Yes we are.

I feel we’re losing sight of one of the key issuse here, which is that marckee used the phrases ‘bunkum’ and ‘rot’ in quick succession like some fucker out of Enid Blyton.

There are some old post that explains this (thanks @NickDS and @TheWza)

2nd ref is such a blatant way of remaining that it just seems less patronising to cancel Brexit without one. I honestly think it’d wind people up less, imagine all the shitstorm that you’d be unleashing by actually inviting an official No Deal campaign to form.

tbh i’m starting to cheer for a no deal brexit

kinda excited to see how much we can completely fuck the country

I’m strangely attracted to the gallows humour that would come out of leave winning again.

(which they would)

And I reckon so many people voted Brexit in the first place in large part because David Cameron wanted remain and he was a twat. Why would having another vote where it’s an obvious attempt by smug middle class centrists to make people vote in the way they want not just get the same result?

2nd ref seems a bad bad bad idea to me.

people would just go mental about the result of a second referendum and would be calling for it to be a best two out of three scenario

When Brexit wins again, there’s your two.

Would they, thought their margin has literally died

yeah it’s the same logic as having one in the first place

“obviously no one will vote leave because that would be fucking stupid. it’ll be fine… oh no”

There was a poll at the weekend in a no deal / may’s deal / remain scenario that had remain on 54%

Which is - honestly - absolutely hilarious at this point, and should tell the 2nd Ref crew all they need to know about this folly.

but labour should be 20 points etc

I think remain would win another one but I sadly don’t think it would be the landslide it should be. Which is why a responsible government (haha) would stop it but without that it seems another vote is the only option.

And if leave did win then we’re not in any worse place than we are now.

That’s not bad for a three option poll
