Winter Music

Winter I is officially upon us. The nights are drawing in, barely get chance to see daylight. what you loading up to listen to? for me it’s a mix of ambient, goth and black metal.

Currently -

love love love the disintegration loops

The Flaming Lips soundtrack to ‘Christmas On Mars’, ‘Once Beyond Hopelessness’, is my ultimate Winter I jam.

Snow swirling outside, glass of port by the fire and a little St Scott Walker on the record player (‘3’ would be a good choice)

Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica

Counting Crows - Recovering the Satellites

Built to Spill - Perfect from Now On

Sigur Ros - ( )

Pearl Jam - Vitalogy

Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies

Bon Iver - s/t

Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters

Iceage - You’re Nothing

Jimmy Eat World - Futures

Anything by Low really.

deerhunter - microcastle is a big winter album for me …

I know BC is big into his seasons and Deerhunter are an autumn band for me !

Biosphere’s Substrata, which turns 20 tomorrow, is the perfect ambient album for winter (and the perfect ambient album full stop)

I think it is still autumn, but my go to winter music is the black heart procession, especially the waiters set of songs

take it to the autumn music thread, mates

Get drawn to a lot of Len around winter time.

Go 2 Len banger

This always gets heavy rotation over winter…

I guess “Steal My Sunshine” would be kind of apt

My go-to album for winter strolls:

I don’t know why but Illumina by Alisha’s Attic always screams autumn to me. I can listen to it any time of year but autumn always feels like the perfect time to listen to it.
