Qualifying for the Olympics involves recording a certain number of top-30 finishes in qualifying events and many of these events don’t even feature 30 people.

To be fair to her it has felt like there have been lots of competitors just making up the numbers. The field is way too large in some events.

I’d say a combination of all three.

Added to that, I also don’t think you can really compare the pressure of any other tournament with the pressure of an Olympics.

This isn’t directed at anyone here as yesterday’s discussion about Elise Christie was perfectly acceptable (I was wrong to use the word hatred as I said yesterday) but ffs, I can’t believe people have been sending her abusive messages online, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised given that is how twitter works a lot of the time…
