Sometimes I wonder if “Raining in Baltimore” changed my brain chemistry back in 1994.

Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree have recorded dozens of melancholy songs, but this one is surely the most wretchedly miserable one:

Springsteen’s The River. Three verses of dreams gradually being crushed, followed by a reminder of when life was great, then acceptance that everything is irreversibly shit now.
