Incredible how firmly entrenched this is as part of my life now. I do my puzzles first thing after waking up every single morning (Wordle, NYT Mini, Framed). Nice start to the day.
Donât know whatâs going to happen if I ever miss a day. Itâs nearly happened once or twice when my usual routine has been disrupted.
Likewise: Coffee. Wordle. Waffle. Worldle. Shower. Breakfast. Work.
Have you ever looked up the word when youâre stuck? Amazing effort if not.
might get back into this, enjoying my regular Plusword and NYT mini routines
I did chip away at some options in incognito mode when I was on a final guess with too many possible words left. So yes, itâs a hollow stat.
Woah. And I thought I had a long streak
I do Wordle, Framed, Metrodle and Heardle. In that order, usually.
Another one of my terrible timewasting habits is playing Microsoft Solitaire every day. They have daily competitions and it always astounds me how many people are clearly out and out cheating. The times they achieve are completely absurd. I can kind of see the intellectual challenge in maybe writing code to play these games automatically, but some people are clearly going off and dry-running the harder games with another account before coming back to âwinâ under their real name, and I just wonder how anyone gets any feeling of satisfaction out of doing that.
If anything I find it more amusing when I have an absolute mare and end up in 30th place or something.

Right I needed to show Iâm not all mouth and no trousers here⌠only I kind of am.
I put it to the test using my ârobotâ, on every word since January 1st 2022.
First you pick these four words in order: frond, busky, place, weigh.
At this point you do need to consider your options. In the majority of cases choosing vomit as your next word will definitively narrow it down to one option, and you should be able to see that in advance. However in about 50 cases youâll see perhaps three further possibilties that vomiting wonât solve, and you need to make a pick that will either solve it there or make explicit what the sixth guess has to be.
As far as I can deduce that is possible with every single answer over that period, with one exception: Parer on the 16th September. That one fucked a lot of us over, me included, and unless someone can think of a word that goes something like V.R.T then even the robot would have been left on a 50:50 there, meaning that either its streak would end there on 258 and it would now be on 188, or it would have got lucky in which case it would still be unbeaten on 447.
i just like putting in fun word first
Yeah Iâd probably prefer to have a higher ratio of 3s and 4s then a long streak, but in a sense you can look at it as a combined score canât you?
Obviously the robot doesnât know whatâs worked in the past, right? I mean as we go on, assuming our brain reminds us what weâve had already or we can safely remind ourselves, I guess that might help?
If weâre on the processes then:
Normally do Wordle just after midnight because itâs rare Iâm not up still then.
Then I do Squareword. However, if either are particularly tough I leave them until the morning or else first thing when I get up if I went to sleep earlier.
Then thereâs the mini crossword and I used to do Plusword every day but now I have the NYTimes thing.
I think streaks do count if you play on âhardâ mode.
By the looks of things, your robot doesnât do that though.
