I put on a work advent calendar for my floor where I buy all the chocolate and pull a name out each day for someone.

Even though people get this for free, i get someone having a moan about it every few days. Either that it’s unfair they haven’t got one yet or they don’t like the chocolate.

People are the worst.

This seems far nicer than the people you work with deserve!

I know! I also put some tinsel curtains up over the doors and one lady ripped it down!

Getting increasingly irked by my fucking boss thinking he knows more about things than people who’ve got more FUCKING EXPERIENCE IN AND KNOWLEDGE OF THAN HIM

you should include a forfeit rule whereby if they moan they get a chocolate-coated sprout and you get their chocolate

Advent calendar irkage is the worst. Every year we buy everyone in the department one and get complaints that it’s childish, waste of money etc.

This year we donated 300 to the local children’s hospital instead (one of the team was running a collection for them) and people complained they didn’t get one.

Employed adults complaining that a sick child got a calendar and they didn’t.

office christmas fun is something I can enjoy and find fun, but it also makes me in-ker-redibly anxious (which feels stupid)

This sounds like such a nice thing to do. Can’t imagine getting all beevy about this at all.

yeah when i was on the phones here the managers used to do a thing where theyd call someone at random and sing the first line of a carol down the phone and youd have to sing it back. so glad i never got one of those calls

Well we should have seen the election result coming after this post

What’s the reward of being good at yr job? Extra money? Better benefits? Get to go home early? A promotion?

No, extra work.

2 things - someone’s stolen my raisins!! I hardly had any left and now I have to eat plain almond milk porridge :disappointed:
My boss bought milk but he got 6 pint bottles which I can hardly lift so keep spilling everywhere.

For some balance - he did remember I drink green tea and bought a few boxes for me so that was nice of him.

A project I worked on for 4 years has just officially gone live and I’m not there to see it or bask in the glory :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

At least you’ll be the person that everyone can safely blame if anything goes wrong with it.

I have reached what I can only assume is the limit of the breakdown in my ability to communicate with the IT staff in my team.

Yesterday I needed to explain twice to one of them which of two whole numbers was the bigger one, after he’d asserted the wrong answer.

Just WhatsApp’d the chief exec my Monzo card details on the off chance they’re out celebrating without me

About time gig venues upped their beer game beyond 2-pint plastic cups.
