Today’s ratio: making and eating a bacon and egg sandwich, doing the washing up and a bit of MS Solitaire vs answering about four quite involved emails.

Conscience clear.

In fairness two of them were variants on “we should tell them to do that themselves. It’s not our problem.” which are necessary and urgent emails.

OK so today I’ve noticed the “Read Aloud” option on Outlook. I remember way back it was quite fun to get Outlook to read out my emails, but disappointingly the quality seems to have improved now, and is therefore less fun. So far the only entertainment I’ve had has been drafting an email of “fuck you and the horse you rode in on” and noting that a colleague whose surname is Paye is pronounced P A Y E by the software.

There must be better fun to be had with this. Should I just paste a whole monthly politics thread and just sit back and listen for the day? Anyone any other ideas?

Painted two bedroom walls this afternoon, and actually got my shoes and jacket on to go to the shop before I remembered that I’m supposed to be working and available at my laptop. It’s very much a struggle not to treat it as a day off.
