I quite like it and the product is good, Iā€™m meeting someone this week to talk about a product manager role which is EXCITING but I probably donā€™t have the right experience for it.

I find job satisfaction stuff hard to answer because Iā€™m very much work to live and just want a quiet life. If I can get through the day without feeling stressed out of my gourd and nobodyā€™s actively bullying me then thatā€™s a win.

Data and performance analyst for childrenā€™s services. Done it for years so Iā€™m good at it but where I currently am is woefully, woefully understaffed and the stress/demand is getting to me a bit.

Also the pay is naff

Financial accountant for a company that makes stuff.

I work alongside the accountants for a big Fund Administration / Pension company, working on regulations, system upgrades, process improvements, and product activity - anything non BAU falls to me and my team. If that sounds all a bit vague then thatā€™s because it is. Iā€™m generally not doing the same thing from one month to the next, which stops it getting boring.

The subject of my job came up in conversation at a family gathering this weekend, as Iā€™ve recently been made permanent in my role. Someone asked me what my job title was and I said ā€œIā€™m the [redacted] managerā€. At which point my 13-year-old nephew chuckles to himself and says ā€œah yes, at my school they give all sorts of people these job titles with manager or head in them, which donā€™t mean anything but make them feel better about themselvesā€. Well, that took the wind out of my sails.

Anyway, I wonā€™t give my job title but I am a partnerships manager for the network of supported accommodation and homelessness services in the city. Iā€™m also the local authorityā€™s lead officer for single homelessness and rough sleeping.
