Not exactly sure what the appeals procedure is these days in track & field but it used to be possible - conditional on the fallen athlete completing the race - to be reinstated even if the athlete who impeded you isnât disqualified
Not sure if this only applied (or applies) to heats & advancing to next rounds. No idea what theyâd do in a final when an incident occurs that close to the finish
Itâs moot anyway, Hassan just bricked, she wasnât pushed and she was all over the track at the end. Utterly at the limits of what you can push your body to I guess. Itâs a big shame for her but âŠyeah

bbcâs heptathlon analysis is well bad considering they have two heptathlon greats in the studio. i always end up having to google the athletesâ PBs in the different events etc to get some wider context
They havenât really looked to adequately fill that role since Toni Minichiello was (justifiably) kicked out.
not just the analysts tbf there should also be more on screen graphics and projected scores and stuff. itâs a very technical event with a complicated scoring system, give us more than just telling us whether KJTâs happy or sad all the time

Iâm not sure how I feel about this prolonged coverage of the athletes getting ready and then being driven to the arena. Itâs mildly interesting and different I suppose but there are actual events happening in the stadium. They may not be British athletes but can we see those instead please?
Imagine if they went completely overboard with it and have a 24hr stream of them in their accommodation like Big Brother, can see them in bed etc and bird noises when theyâre talking about stuff that canât be broadcast
