I looked into the match history in all of the Round of 16 fixtures, because that’s fun for me

At the risk of sounding negative, I think you have to say the expansion has been a failure. There currently 16 teams left in the tournament - exactly the same amount as were involved at this point four years ago

Wrong! At this point 4 years ago there were still 32 teams in the running, as the world cup wouldn’t start for another 5 months
